Report a problem

One route for a factual error, a privacy concern, or content that is causing harm.

How to report

Email editors@hr.cafe with the link and what is wrong. If someone’s safety or privacy is at stake, put “urgent” in the subject and we will look the same day where we can.

You do not need to be the person affected, and you do not need an account.

What you can report

  • A factual error. Goes to corrections; significant ones are logged publicly.
  • Someone is identifiable who should not be — a colleague, an employee, an employer. We will assess and, where needed, unpublish while we do.
  • Harmful content — harassment, exposure of private information, or anything putting a person at risk.
  • Impersonation, or a story presented as someone’s experience that is not theirs.
  • A copyright or licensing problem — tell us what was used and what your rights are.

How it is handled

  1. Acknowledged within two working days.
  2. Assessed by an editor. Where the risk is to a named person, the story may be unpublished during assessment rather than after — the cautious order, not the convenient one.
  3. The contributor is told and given a chance to respond, unless that would increase the risk to someone.
  4. Resolved — corrected, amended, unpublished, or explained to you if we disagree. We will tell you either way rather than going quiet.

Reporting anonymously

You can report from an address that does not identify you. We will still act on it. The trade-off is that we cannot come back to you for detail, or tell you how it ended.
