A home for what HR people actually learned.

hr.cafe is a curated publication of first-person stories from HR and People practitioners, with a simple path to contribute and a small, thoughtful community forming around the work.

Why this exists

HR practitioners make consequential judgment calls every week, but most of that learning never leaves the room. The people with the most useful experience often have the least time to write it up, and the loudest voices online are not always the most specific.

We think some practitioners will value a credible, low-effort way to turn one experience into a professional contribution, and that peers will value discovering the person through that experience. That is a hypothesis, not a claim. We are building carefully to test it.

What hr.cafe is, and is not

It is: a curated multi-author publication; an editorial service that helps you tell one story well; author profiles built from real contributions; moderated responses between peers.

It is not: an HR help desk, a template warehouse, a news portal, an awards list, a job board, or a vendor lead database.

Where we are: the founding issue

We are early. We are recruiting a small group of founding contributors across functions, sectors and career levels, and a separate group of readers who will tell us honestly which stories they finished and why.

Until those stories are approved, the stories and people you see on this site are illustrative examples written by the editors to demonstrate the formats. They are clearly labelled, kept out of search indexes, and will be replaced. We will not show member counts, testimonials or logos until they are real.

Who runs hr.cafe

Operator and editorial team details will be published here before the first real story goes live. If we have commercial interests relevant to HR buyers, we will name them on this page.

How we will know if it is working

Not pageviews. We will watch whether readers who do not know an author still read, return and respond; whether contributors come back with a second story; and whether our editorial effort stays sustainable. If those signals do not appear, we will say so and change course.
