Draft pending review. This plain-language draft describes how the site is built to work today. It will be reviewed and finalized before the publication launches with real contributors.
The short version
- You can read every story without an account and without giving us any personal data.
- We collect only what you type into a form: a story submission, a response, or an email sign-up.
- Each purpose is separate. Submitting a story does not subscribe you; subscribing does not submit anything.
- We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not use it for sales outreach.
- There are no advertising or cross-site tracking scripts on this site.
What we collect and why
Story submissions: your name, email, role context, the answers or draft you provide, optional links and disclosures, and the permissions you confirm. Used only to review, develop and, with your approval, publish your story.
Responses to stories: your display name, email and response. Used for moderation; published only if you allow it and a moderator approves.
Weekly email: your email and, optionally, a role description. Used only to send the weekly stories.
Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, time) kept for security and troubleshooting, and a session cookie used to protect forms against forgery.
Stored on your device
Saved stories, followed authors, your theme choice and an unsent story draft are kept in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device unless you press send.
Where it is kept
Submissions, responses and sign-ups are stored in private files outside the public website, accessible only to the editorial team. Private drafts and notes never appear in public pages, search or analytics.
How long we keep it
We will publish a retention schedule before launch. Our intention: declined submissions deleted after 12 months; unpublished responses after 12 months; email addresses removed on unsubscribe.
Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data, or withdraw a submission or published story, by emailing [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights.
