Republishing

Running an hr.cafe story in your newsletter, intranet or publication: what is allowed and how to ask.

Last updated

Draft pending review. This plain-language draft describes how the site is built to work today. It will be reviewed and finalized before the publication launches with real contributors.

What you can do without asking

  • Link to any story. Always, anywhere.
  • Quote a short extract — a paragraph or so — with the author’s name and a link.
  • Share it internally by link in a team channel or newsletter.
  • Subscribe to the RSS feed and read it in any reader.

What needs permission

  • Republishing a story in full, anywhere.
  • Reproducing it inside a paid product, course or report.
  • Translating it.
  • Anything implying the author or hr.cafe endorses you.

Because the author owns the story, permission is theirs to give. Email editors@hr.cafe with the story and where it would run; we ask the author and come back to you.

If permission is given

  • Credit the author by name, with their role context, and hr.cafe as the original publication.
  • Link to the original in the first or last paragraph.
  • Set your canonical tag to the hr.cafe URL, so the original stays the reference copy.
  • Do not edit the substance. House-style tweaks are fine; changing what the author said is not.
  • Do not place it beside advertising that implies the author endorses a product.
  • Honor withdrawal. If the author withdraws the story, please take your copy down too.

On canonicals, honestly

Google describes canonical annotations as a signal it takes into account, not a guarantee of which URL is selected. Anyone promising you a ranking outcome from syndication is guessing.
